Delaware County Summer Youth Employment Program

Do you know a youth between the ages of 14-20 that lives in Delaware County and needs a summer job? We can help! 

With the increase in minimum wage it is harder than ever for young people to compete with adults for summer employment opportunities. Delaware County CDO Workforce offers a Summer Employment Program for Delaware County youth ages of 14-20 who are interested in a summer jobs in their own communities.

A summer job can help youth to earn money for college or that first car, explore fields of interest, and learn valuable life skills to help them build a bright future.

This program enables youth to participate in valuable paid work experiences and educational workshops.

Complete applications must be received by June 8th. There are income eligible and non-income eligible slots available. Apply today as opportunities are limited.

NYS Tax Credits Available for Eligible Businesses

New York Youth Jobs Program 

The New York Youth Jobs Program, formerly called New York Youth Works, encourages businesses to hire unemployed, disadvantaged youth, ages 16 to 24, who live in New York State. This program helps make it easier for youth to find a job and career training path. 

For program year 2018, businesses can earn tax credits of up to $7,500 for eligible youth starting work between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018.

Businesses in Chenango, Delaware or Otsego County who would like to participate in this program must apply before November 30, 2018.
