JSEC is again offering the opportunity for human resource professionals, managers and front-line supervisors the skills needed to listen, respond and deal with staff and as a bonus, dealing with difficult people. We will explore those "difficult types": Recognizing the type, who they are, what their rewards are, and how to treat them is key in knowing how to respond professionally.
Whether you are new or have been in a supervisory or managerial role for a long time, you more than likely have found yourself in a situation that made you uncomfortable, perhaps at a "loss for words". In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to analyze your communication skills as a supervisor, a subordinate and as a peer in a non-threatening environment. Identifying your strengths and weaknesses will assist you in communicating effectively to seek that promotion, influence your staff (or supervisor) or gain the respect of your peers in working together as a team. Listening and responding appropriately and professionally is key to your success. It identifies who you are and how you are perceived.
Your facilitator, Loree Allen will give you the opportunity to hone your skills. Not the ordinary workshop where you get to escape your office for the day, get handouts and then return to the office and place the handouts in the recycling bin but actual tips that you can use immediately (even on your family!). Ms. Allen uses humor and years of experience to convey valuable information that is thought provoking and inspiring.
